Updates From Our Pastor
May 25th, 2020
Dear Church Family,
I hope you and your family are doing well and staying healthy. Cindy and I miss everyone very much! I would like to give you a few updates for this week.
We are reopening the church on Sunday, June 7th at 11 am! Click Here for full details.
Friday’s Drive Thru Food Pantry was able to bless 43 families with a total of 86 bags of food while keeping social distancing guidelines. I want to thank our volunteers for their frontline service to the Lord during this crisis!
Our Wednesday 7:00 pm Bible Study, "Life Lessons From Genesis" and the Sunday Morning “Books of Peter” series at 11:00 am Church Service livestream continue to be well attended! If by chance you miss any of the messages, you can always view them on our website or Facebook page. It’s real easy to view live on Sundays and Wednesdays. Just go to: www.shorelinechurchakron.com and click on the Live-streaming graphic.
Due the Ohio Stay-At-Home order by Governor Mike DeWine and President Trump’s extension of the Coronavirus Guidelines at least through May, it looks like we will not be meeting in person for regular church services until possibly June. For more information you can read the full Ohio Stay-At-Home Order here. Also, to get the facts on safety practices concerning the coronavirus check out the CDC website for the latest information.
Through this unprecedented time of social isolation, my goal is to provide online content each day to encourage and “feed my sheep”. I am continuing to post short daily devotional videos entitled, “Today’s Encouraging Scripture” which have been met with positive comments online. I will continue to interact with Facebook, instagram and our website to keep our people connected, so stay tuned.
I want to thank the congregation for your efforts to stay in touch with each other. It is going to become an even greater challenge for us to maintain our bond as the weeks pass. But, with our focus placed firmly on God and His promises WE CAN DO IT! Please continue to check in with fellow church members whether by a phone call, social media, email, text, mailing a card, whatever you are moved to do will mean a lot to our fellowship and keep our bond strong in the Lord.
I also want to thank those of you who supported by giving this week. Shoreline, along with all churches and non-profits are being affected the hardest through this crisis. Remember, your tithes and offerings can be mailed to the church or placed in the mail slot next to the mailbox. It will be checked everyday. If you choose, you may do your giving online through our website. If you feel led to provide an emergency gift to Shoreline, we would deeply appreciate it.
We will continue to pray for the health and safety of your families and ask that you also keep us lifted up in prayer through these uncertain days.
God bless you,
Dr. Scott Campbell
